As a Waste Specialist, you will be part of the Vendor Environmental team, leading our work in understanding in supply chain waste volumes, composition and disposal methods, and delivering programs to reduce supply chain waste and improve recycling rates.
A day in the life:
• Consider adding broader ecosystem mapping/creation/socialization.
• Work with our factory partners to map waste volumes and composition.
• Develop training that engages and enrolls our factory partners in waste recycling programs.
• Participate in industry collaboration to drive change within the supply chain to improve social and environmental conditions.
• Form partnerships with waste handlers (or w/ the system) and identifying improvements both social and environmental.
• Partner with textile-to-textile recyclers to understand and help evolve reverse logistics supply chains to recycle supply chain waste
• Run pilots to demonstrate feasibility of textile-to-textile recycling.
• Evolve and maintain our supply chain waste management and tracking.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and deliver projects.
• 5+ years’ experience in sustainability, environmental compliance or waste management.
• Clear communicator who can break complex topics into easy-to-understand and actionable pieces of information across all levels of the business.
• Understanding of or previous exposure to manufacturing.
• Understanding of waste management and recycling.
• Strong project management and organization skills, ability to prioritize time and tasks, and solve problems.
